Formula charts to mix the fertiliser with water

First you need to convert your measurements to millilitres eg. 1.5 litres = 1500 ml
Then simplify the Ratio eg. 1:20 becomes 20 , 1:40 becomes 40 or 1:6 becomes 6 etc...
Last divide (or multiply) the ratio by the millilitres to get your answer

Litres to Millilitres
Litres x 1000 = Millilitres

Water contents ml \ Ratio = Fertiliser ml
(amount of Fertiliser to be added to water)

eg. 1000ml divided by 20 Ratio = 50ml
Fertiliser ml x Ratio = Water contents ml
(amount of water to be added to Fertiliser)

NPK for seaweed fertiliser basics

This basic understanding of NPK is whats in the fertiliser ( no soil just the fertiliser )

NPK reading is just a percentage of that macronutrient/element in the fertiliser

eg. potassium (K) reading of 4 means theres 4% potassium (K) in that fertiliser
phosphours (P) reading of 2 means theres 2% phosphours in the fertiliser etc......

Its that simple and easy to remember this will help with your choice of NZOSF liquid fertiliser to buy.
remember large amounts of these reading can damage your plants roots and soil structure sometimes beyond repair.

NPK test chart for soil

N (nitrogen)
Low = 40 lbA/6" soil
Med = 160 lbA/6" soil
High = 320 lbA/6" soil

P (phosphorus)
Low = 8 lbA/6" soil
Med = 20 lbA/6" soil
High = 64 lbA/6" soil

K (potassium)
Low = 40 lbA/6" soil
Med = 80 lbA/6" soil
High = 160 lbA/6" soil

Breakdown of formulas

lb = pounds to the soil
A = soil texture and structure (see below)
/6" = per 6" of soil tested

(160 lb) (A) (/6" soil) = (160 pounds) into (soil structure) per (6" of soil tested)
